Ajay Devgn massive deal with Vashu Bhagnani

B-town original action hero Ajay Devgn whose 'Singham' is blazing all guns at the box office is believed to have signed a massive deal with producer Vashu Bhagnani for his next to be directed by Sajid Khan.

The price is said to be the highest in Ajay's career and why not, Ajay has proved to be a safe bet who has given maximum hit last year and this year too his 'Singham' is roaring with echo.

The untitled flick is likely to mount on sets soon after Sajid is free from 'Housefull 2' which is expected in June next year.

We have all seen stars promoting their movies before the release of their film but have you ever heard of a film promoting another film?

For the first time ever the first look of a movie will be unveiled by the team of another movie! On Thursday, the team of AARAKSHAN consisting of Mr. Amitabh Bachchan and Director Prakash Jha, will be unveiling the first promo of Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgn starrer RASCALS at a suburban multiplex.

Never before in the history of cinema has there ever been such a cross promotional activity. Mr. Bachchan, who is quite close with Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgn, willingly agreed to be a part of this promotional activity after a single phone call from Sanju baba who is also producing this film.

In fact Sanjay Dutt's father, the late Sunil Dutt and Amitabh Bachchan had a great relation! Hence the association with the Dutt-Bachchan family goes way back. The director of RASCALS, David Dhawan, too is quite excited with this development as he too has worked with Mr. Bachchan in movies like BADE MIYAAN CHOTE MIYAAN and HUM KISISE SE KUM NAHI.

Prakash Jha was more than happy to unveil the first look of his favorite actor, Ajay Devgn's, new movie. Both have given many hits like GANGAJAL and RAJNEETI to name a few.

Producer Sanjay Ahluwalia and Vinay Choksey will too be present at the event. RASCALS hits theatres this Dussera!

Dutt and Devgan blacklist Kangna

Kangna Ranaut have been buring bridges with some of the biggest bollywood actors. That sure isn't a very clever thing to do.

Kangna is known for her extreme remarks. Upset with her recent remarks Sanjay Dutt and Ajay devgan have decided not to work with the actress anymore. The trio feature together in the forth coming 'Rascal'.

Many believe that she has been talking about the two stars to gain publicity. But the actress rebutted the accusation saying she has done enough good for herself and do not rely on others for attention and career upliftment.

The next thing Kangna knew, she was not invited at the launch of Rascals first look. The event did not have the leading lady Kangna attending it.

A shocked Kangna called David Dhawan, the director of the film, to understand why she has been left out from the publicity campaign but the actress failed to receive a convincing reply.

If rumours are to be believed the actress will not be invited for the forthcoming music launch or the interviews scheduled for the promotion of Rascals.

Kangna’s absence at the recent parties hosted by Dutt comes with no surprise. Sources say Dutt loyalist Dharam Oberoi who used to handle Kangna’s work has also cut off all professional ties with her

Akshay Kumar gives the title Son Of Sardar to Ajay Devgn

Akshay Kumar Few days back, we had reported that Ajay Devgn was all set to star in Ashwini Dhir's next. However the film which was to be titled Son Of Sardar was facing problems with the title as the same was registered with Akshay Kumar, who was reticent to part with it.

Now it seems that the two actors, who have worked together in the past, have sorted the issue amicably when Ajay recently stopped by Akshay's sets of Rowdy Rathore. If what we hear is anything to go by then the meeting proved fruitful as Akshay more than willingly gave away the title of Son Of Sardar to Ajay.

Confirming this, Ajay says, "I had asked Akshay for the title. The title was extremely close to his heart. It is a very good gesture on Akshay Kumar's part and I am indebted to him for it. We will start the film in January."

Ajay Devgn avoids clash with Ranbir Kapoor

Devgn is clear that he no longer wants any of his films to clash with another, especially one that involves his friends.

His upcoming film, Tezz, also starring Anil Kapoor, Kangna Ranaut, Boman Irani and Sameera Reddy, was all set to release on November 11, but when Ajay discovered that Ranbir Kapoor's much-awaited Rockstar is also slated to release on the same date, he decided to intervene.

Sources say that he called up producer Ratan Jain and asked him to shift the release date of Tezz. "Imtiaz Ali's film had booked the date before Tezz, so Ajay thought it was prudent to move Tezz rather than ask the other film to move. Ajay shares a good rapport with Ranbir since Raajneeti and did not want a clash with him," says the source. "Also, Ajay is close to Ashtavinayak, who are has produced Rockstar. The Golmaal series, which has added to Ajay's stardom, has been produced by Ashtavinayak," adds the source.

Ratan Jain remained unavailable for comment.

'Singham' collection reaches Rs.100 crore

Filmmaker Rohit Shetty​'s action-packed "Singham", starring Ajay Devgn as an honest cop fighting to clean the system, has earned Rs.100 crore net in India in its sixth week."

It is said to be the seventh film all time to have crossed the mark of Rs.100 crore net in collections. Produced by Reliance Entertainment, the film is still going strong in the theatres. It will complete 50 days Sep 10.

"A hard-hitting story, the wonderful combination of director Rohit Shetty and star Ajay Devgn and some amazing action sequences have resulted in an extremely successful run for the film," Sanjeev Lamba, CEO, Reliance Entertainment said in a statement.

"'Singham' is the first mainstream film produced by Reliance Entertainment and we are very pleased with the results," he added.

The cast of the film also includes Kajal Aggarwal and Prakash Raj​.

Fresh from the success of his recent hit, Singham that grossed 100 crores at the box office, Ajay Devgn is another bankable star catching up with the Khans. The introvert star shot for Hi! Blitz cover in a glamorous avatar at Bandra's iconic Mehboob studio. Devgn who clearly enjoys the reputation of being a prankster, didn't have any tricks up his sleeve for the Hi! team. He came on time, with his entourage, and finished the shoot in just 3 hours! He enthusiastically discussed the shots with our art director Kunal Naik and photographer Shekhar Phalke.



The shoot had some key styling inputs by Ajay's close friend and designer Ana Singh. Devgn loved the wardrobe put together by our fashion team and even bought a pair of denims, we'd chosen for the shoot! In an exclusive interview with Hi! STAR Gold, the classic movies channel form Star India Network, has created history by garnering 8.7 TVR for the premier of ‘Singham’ on Saturday, September 10, 2011. The channel had unveiled its new logo during the screening of the blockbuster. The new logo was simulcast across Star India’s channels — STAR Plus, STAR One, STAR Utsav, STAR World, STAR Movies, STAR Pravah and STAR Jalsha, through a unique network roadblock.

The channel had launched widespread marketing and promotional activities including cross-channel promotion, outdoor and print besides trade communication to create a buzz around the television premier of ‘Singham’.

Celebrating the ‘Tashan’ of Bajirao Singham, larger than life images of Ajay Devgan were displayed at strategic locations across Mumbai, Delhi and select territories of UP. Highlighting Rohit Shetty’s signature style, a unique eye-catching mobile van innovation with an image of a car toppled by Bajirao Singham were also seen the streets of Mumbai.

Such an opening may work as a boon for Hindi movie channels genre that are plagued by low ad rates.
