Kajol to do a cameo appearance in Karan Johar's next film

Johar’s ‘Student of the Year’ has been in news for quite some time now.
Recently it was reported that the role of the principal in the film
that was tailor-made for Karan’s best buddy Shahrukh Khan has now fallen
in Rishi Kapoor’s kitty. Apparently Shahrukh and Karan together decided
that the role does not suit the former and Rishiji would be the best
one to portray it.

This would sure not be a good news for SRK
fans but we have a better news. And the news is that our very own Kajol
who also happens to be Karan’s favourite will make a guest appearance in
the film. And you never know that Shahrukh might also be seen in a
scene or two in the film. The film stars newcomers that include Varun
Dhawan (David Dhawan’s son) and Alia Bhatt (Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter).

Kajol Teaches Ajay Marathi

Rohit Shetty’s Singham has been generating a huge buzz everywhere,
especially the dialogues of the film. And for lead actor Ajay Devgn’s
perfect diction in the film, the credit may very well go to wife Kajol.
In some of the scenes, Ajay had to speak in fluent Marathi, and he
wanted to make sure that he delivered the dialogue in an authentic Maharashtrian accent. So he turned to his Kajol for help.

Kajol being a half Maharashtrian (her mother Tanuja is Maharashtrian)
knew the language very well and jumped in to help her beloved hubby
with his dialogues. She taught Ajay a few words and their pronunciations
and within minutes, Ajay had perfected the dialogues.

Kajol, Ajay Spotted With Their Children Nysa, Yug

It was work plus family day out for the Devgans. Ajay, Kajol
Nysa and Yug four of them were spotted at a Juhu hotel on Sunday
afternoon. Actually, Kajol and Ajay were in Juhu for some work purposes
and they brought their two children along with them. Work as well as
family outing happened simultaneously. The Devgans usually keeps
their children away from media glare but they were clicked when Kajol,
Yug and Nysa was getting inside a waiting car. The toddler was attached
to Kajol while Nysa was moving around the venue along with Pa Ajay. Ajay was at the Juhu hotel for a media meet for Emotional Atyachar 3 which he is anchoring.

Kajol: Singham, A Must Watch Movie

Mumbai, Jul 19: Actress Kajol, on the sidelines of a book launch here on Monday July 18 praised her husband Ajay Devgn's new release 'Singham'. Kajol's sister Tanisha, also present at the book launch praised the movie. Kajol had said, "It is a rocking film. And one must see the film." Ajay too had tweeted, "Singham rocks, growls and ROARS! AAAAWESOME!!! Kudos to Rohit. His best so far... And so says Kajol, I think she really meant it." Kajal was present for the launch of fiction books 'Champa, the Punjabi Kudi Discovers the Himalayas' and 'Champa The Dreamer Journeys to the land of Buddha'. The actress said that she liked reading fiction.

However, her husband, she said is not an avid reader. "He (Ajay) reads a lot of recommended books. If someone gives a book in his hand then he will read, otherwise not. I doubt if he has ever bought a book and read," Kajol said.
Singham is due to release on July 22.

When your parents are the two powerhouse
performers, you either greet the camera like an old friend, or simply
duck it. Kajol and Ajay Devgn's daughter Nysa (centre) opted for the
latter.

At a bookstore yesterday, the actress and her sister Tanisha launched Champa, a series of books about a village girl in Punjab.

“I didn't read the book; instead I asked
my daughter Nysa for her opinion,” shared Kajol with the audience. "She
picked it up at 4:30 and had finished it by 8:30. She then told me what
the story was about,” she said.

Nysa, who was there with her friends, but avoided being clicked by the
paparazzi, reminded us a lot of her mother, whose independent streak is
somewhat of a legend still in the industry.

Kajol: Maxi-Luscious At Book Launch

July 18, 2011, (Sawf News) - Kajol rocked a new hair-do and a black print maxi at the launch of Asha
Shankardass children books at the Crossword Store in Mumbai on Monday,
July 18.

She was joined by her sister Tanisha at the unveiling of the books: Champa The Punjabi Kudi Discovers the Himalayas and Champa The Dreamer Journeys to the land of Buddha, written and illustrated by Shankardass.

Kajol, 36, paired her spaghetti strap flowy dress with a black scarf.

She accessorized with her staple black thong sandals, tiered gold necklace and blue and gold bangles in her left arm.

Her new hair style was a delight: luscious waves with an off center subtle parting.

Kohl lined eyes and nude lips rounded off her summer afternoon hot mama looks.

Kajol cheerily signed autographs for the children attending the event.

Kajol was last seen in Karan Johar production We Are Family in 2010, which was released around the time she was to deliver her son Yug (b. November 2010).

She has not signed any films since then, but recently Karan Johar
said he is keen on bringing back the cast of Kabhi Khusi Kabhi Gham
together for a sequel of the film. Other stars in the 2001 family drama
included Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor.

"It's very strange. But all the six main members of the cast are
as dear to me now as they were 10 years ago when I made the film. I'm
sure they're as charged about the sequel as I am," Karan recently told

The gorgeous actress Kajol and her younger sister Tanishaa launched the books ‘Champa The Dreamer: Journeys to the Land of Buddha’
and ‘Champa the Punjabi Kudi Discovers The Himalayas’ in Mumbai

At the event, Kajol kept it casual and was wearing a floral dress.
She paired her outfit with a stole and black sandals. Her multi-strand
gold necklace and turquoise gold bangles complemented her outfit.


Speaking about the style statement made by Tanishaa, she also kept
it casual and was wearing a white dress which she paired with a
Balenciaga bag. Her ankle-strap heels also caught our eye.


It’s after a long time that both the sisters have been seen together at an event.

Kajol Goes Out With Nysa

It was family-bonding time for Kajol as she stepped out for a literary do on Monday evening in Mumbai with sister Tanisha in tow.

Mommy's little daughter, Nysa, too accompanied them for this one. And,
while she was shy about getting her pictures clicked, our shutterbugs
managed to catch a glimpse of her as she stepped out with a couple of
books in her hand.

Nysa
also had some friends with her for company. Kajol, dressed in a long
black outfit, was in a good mood as she chatted with the kids and joked
and laughed with her sister.

Glam mom Kajol is a hands-on parent with her two children — Nysa (born in 2003) and Yug (born in 2010). At the launch of the book Champa The Dreamer, the actress revealed more about her kids, their reading habits and also her childhood stories.

* Do you read books to your kids or does Nysa read by herself now?
I think kids pick up what parents do. Nysa has seen me reading so many times. She doesn’t have an option than to pick up a book and read. Currently, I have been reading for my son — he is just 10 months old but I am hoping that he will understand it.

* At her age, does Nyya grasp what she has read?
I asked Nysa to read Champa The Dreamer and tell me about it. After some time she told me, “Mom this book is about a girl who takes you through the whole year and the four seasons of the year — spring, winter, rains and Baisakhi.” I was amazed that she knew about Baisakhi. She learned so much by reading this book. It was wonderful to see her reading; she just picked up the book at 4 pm and she didn’t keep it down till 8.30 in the night.

* What kind of books do you prefer reading?
I read fiction because I read to entertain myself. I read books like Champa and I pick up a lot of teenage fiction and children’s books. I would say Harry Potter is an intelligent, well-written book. I also read about witches, warlocks and wolves.

* Were you an early reader of books?
The great part about our childhood was that we didn’t have that many books then; we only had Amar Chitra Katha and I think I have read the whole 300-400 in the series. Then, I also had my great-grandmother and my grandmother telling us stories. So even before we read Akbar Birbal, we knew the stories as our elders had told us.

Abhay-Kalki set for a hat-trick?
Abhay Deol and Kalki have formed one of the unlikeliest successful jodis in B-town after the success of Dev. D and the recent Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Not surprisingly, producers are cashing in and the two actors have been cast together again in the forthcoming Shanghai. The actor clarifies, “In Shanghai, I don’t have many scenes with Kalki. We literally have just one or two days of work together. Shanghai offers her a great role and she is perfect for it and of course Dibakar is really an actor’s director.”

Just after the London shoot of Tezz that concluded a few weeks back, Ajay Devgn had sneaked out to Singapore for a quick holiday with Kajol, daughter Nysa and son Yug. Though he had to back in the B-town soon enough to promote Singham, he is already making plans to wrap up the unfinished business. He has promised his family that come October and he would be definitely taking a much longer holiday with them this time around.

"Ajay has promised Kajol and his daughter that he has something big planned for them this October", informs a close family friend. "Even though Singham is a huge success, he isn't taking any break yet as he has to begin Bol Bachchan soon. Once he wraps up a major schedule of this comedy, he would be busy with the promotion of Rascals which is a Dusshehra release. However soon after Rascals, he would take off for a holiday to some exotic place. Plans are already being put together. Though Yug is still too small to understand what's happening around him, Nysa is pretty excited to be making plans with her mom on this."

This is pretty much a welcome break for Ajay Devgn who, after Salman Khan, has been the most prolific at the box office for last couple of years. Last year he had six releases and this year too he has been busy with four films - Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji, Singham, Rascals and Tezz. Even months to come aren't going to be easy either since he has Bol Bachchan, Son of Sardar and Vishal Bhardwaj's next - a comedy - lined up.

"Kajol understands his work commitments but Ajay too has always been quite conscious about taking interim breaks with his family", says a source, "He has always been doing 3-4 films a year at an average and it is unlikely that this trend would change. However he makes it a point to plan interim breaks in between. A few of these may be quick getaways like the one that happened to Singapore early this month. However, a couple of elaborate holidays per year are always on his radar."

Ajay, who is riding high on Singham finding a place in one of the Top-10 best openings of all time, confirms that he has marked the month of October in his diary for holidays. "I do that every year actually but this time around I really feel like taking a good break. Singham was a strenuous experience as it was announced, shot, completed and released - all in a record time of 132 days. It was physically challenging too."

Sure Ajay, go ahead, have fun. Sometimes 'lions' need to take rest as well!

Girl Child Campaign May Get Star Support

MUMBAI: The state government, in a bid to bolster its girl child campaign, has approached star Bollywood couple-Kajol and Ajay Devgn- to be the brand ambassadors for the state health department's drive. Ajay and Kajol are believed to have consented to the proposal informally.

Minister for public health Suresh Shetty, said sources, wanted a Bollywood couple with a girl child and a non-controversial image. "After detailed discussions, it was decided to approach Ajay and Kajol," said an official.

There has been a sharp decline in the girl-boy ratio in the state in the last decade. The child sex ratio figures of 1991 Census show 946 girls per 1,000 boys. In 2011, this dropped to 833 girls per 1,000 boys. Beed district in Marathwada region registered a drop of 93 girls per 1,000 boys in the last decade. The child sex ratio in Beed was 894 girls per 1,000 boys in 2001 as against 801 girls in 2011.

Shetty said, "Actors have huge impact on the masses. The department has already initiated stern action against erring doctors and radiologists. But if punitive action is supported with an awareness campaign and that too by a star couple, results will be much better."

While inaugurating a helpline to promote the "save a girl child" campaign, chief minister Prithviraj Chavan, earlier this month, said that declining child sex ratio in a progressive state like Maharashtra was a matter of grave concern. Appreciating the stricter implementation of the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Test (PCPNDT) by the health department, Chavan had suggested an awareness campaign to save the girl child.

Besides Ajay and Kajol, the state government has already roped in prominent Marathi film industry actor Sachin Pilgaonkar and wife Supriya as brand ambassadors for 'save the girl child campaign'. "They are popular in rural parts of the state," said an official.

Mumbai: Ajay Devgn, who is known to be a very caring and a dedicated husband to Kajol, is now taking keen interest in his `Singham` co-star and newbie Kajal Agarwal.

Recently, the young actress was left helpless when her assistant could not accompany her to Bangkok due to an emergency. And Kajal was in need of someone who could escort her to the country. That was when Ajay came into the picture.

Talking to a daily, the `Singham` actress said, "I had to go to Bangkok to shoot for my South film when suddenly my assistant could not make it due to some urgent work. Once Ajay got to know of this, he very sweetly organised somebody else to travel with me."

What is indeed surprising is the fact that Ajay, who happens to be a reserved person of sorts, took the initiative in lending a helping hand to the beauty.

"He is a very helpful person, and I was very touched by his gesture,” said Kajal.

You’d be surprised to know that a section of the stratosphere in Bollywood ranks a high spiritual quotient. Actor Shah Rukh Khan who claims that he finds acting “a spiritual experience” is looked upon as a ‘spiritual’ guru by several people he interacts with.

Co-star Kajol earlier said, “For me Shah Rukh Khan is like God. He is kind and will always take care of his friends’ problems. He is a person with whom it is very easy to discuss and talk. For me he is a very special human being.” Director Karan Johar is equally enthusiastic about King Khan, “To me, Shah Rukh is a very spiritual person. He is really God’s good son. He has the right kind of spiritual path that he tells you about if he feels close enough to you. I respect him like my father.”

Actor Hrithik Roshan has apparently undergone a fundamental transformation in his inner personality due to his sister Sunaina and mom Pinky introducing him to the teachings of the Oneness University in Chennai a couple of years ago.

Hema believes that Krishna is instantly accessible, “He has followers all over. He’s available to you whenever you want Him. We keep making mistakes knowingly and unknowingly. In the BhagvadGita, He assures, ‘Think of me and I’m there’. I express my devotion through dance.”
